The Five Pillars Of Pelvic Care
Mar 02, 2023Do you feel like your pelvic floor is a bit of a mystery?
It's hidden away, out of site, it's not something we talk about, and historically it's a place rooted in shame & embarrassment.
I used to feel like that too...even as someone who spent 5 years studying health sciences at University, I really didn't learn much about the pelvic floor until I had kids myself, which is crazy.
You are not alone in the mystery!
Want to know what I now LOVE about pelvic floor...?!
While it's hidden away, it's also at the epicentre of your body! Everything is connected to your pelvic floor in some way, via connective tissue, nerves, blood flow & meridian's. Even your gut health!
It's needed for birthing life, pooping, peeing, supporting your womb, and of course having incredible orgasm's ;). (That's just the physical side...more on energetics another day).
Which is why you need a whole-body approach to healing.
This is good news if you hold shame or trauma in this area of the body. Having an exam 'down there', for many women can be too scary, embarrassing or traumatic...so they don't bother seeking help :(
Your nervous system would go into 'freeze' just thinking about it, which will work against your healing by making your pelvic floor muscles clench tight.
Your nervous system needs to feel safe, FIRST.
By understanding whole body pelvic floor, it means that you can start pelvic floor healing without going anywhere near the pelvic floor. This might just encourage more women to seek help & support (yipeee!).
So today I wanted to share with you my 'Five Pillars Of Pelvic Care', which is what I have structured my 'Pelvic Floor & Core Foundations Program' on.
Five Pillars Of Pelvic Care...
-
Breathing & Nervous System Regulation
-
Posture
-
Pelvic Floor & Core
-

-

Under each of the 5 pillars you will have a short educational video, an exercise library, plus a playlist to help you embody the energy of that part of the body.
**In Pillar #3 I go into a bit more detail about common pelvic floor dysfunction, such as; prolapse, diastasis, incontinence etc, and exercises that will help with these things.
